“Your Best Thinking Got Me Here,” is a meeting of old and new; organic and electronic and a melting pot of worlds, far and near.
Subtly reworked samples of 70s greats like Randy Crawford and Ethiopian jazz legend, Hirut Bèqèlè give the album a warm, vintage energy which simmers beneath the electronic textures. The album features strong vocal performances from Bristol’s Lou Bold and poignant spoken word from legendary figure of the Los Angeles arts scene, Kamau Daáood. With contributions from Leeds’ rising star, poet Seki Lynch, and South African-born, London-based singer Carmen Ross, the album pays homage to the collectivist music-making spirit of Massive Attack.
